Roy Keane Makes Top Four Prediction And Lays Out What Chelsea Must Do To Move To The ‘Next Level’

Ex-Manchester United captain Roy Keane is backing Chelsea to finish in the top four after seeing them narrowly lose to Manchester City last night.

The former Republic of Ireland international does, however, believe they need to sign a few more players if they want to compete for the Premier League title next season:

“To go to the next level in terms of challenging for the league, they need to get a few lads in. But I fully expect Chelsea to be a top-four this year because they have got a lot of good players.”

“Frank seems to have kept it going. There seems to be a good spirit, good body language, play with freedom and they are good to watch. Top four should be no problem.”

Blues boss Frank Lampard will take a lot of positives from the 2-1 defeat at the Etihad, particularly the first 20 minutes when they had City on the ropes.

N’Golo Kante’s opener was a just reward for the performance they had put in, and if chances from Willian and Fikayo Tomori had also gone in, the result may well have gone in the away side’s favour.

There were, of course, areas to improve. Chelsea are still conceding way too many goals, especially against the big clubs, and if they are to compete for trophies in the future, they will need to tighten up. That may, though, come with experience and, as Keane says, with a few additions.
