Romelu Lukaku On Form Again As West Brom Draw With Newcastle

If the transfers rumours are to be believed, Chelsea will become one of the strongest teams in the world this summer. Players such as Falcao, Fellaini and Schurrle have been regularly linked to the Blues and seemingly have a pretty good chance of ending up at Stamford Bridge. Add to that the fact that apparently Mourinho will leave Madrid to join Chelsea at the end of this season and you get the feeling that Chelsea may dominate European football over the next few years.

According to Dailymail, another important factor in Chelsea’s future success is the fact that players who have been on loan may return for good. Some of them have had some outstanding seasons and return determined to finally get a place in the first eleven. Great footballers such as Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, Jeffrey Bruma and Thibaut Courtois should return and will probably become team regulars. They are all young and have proved themselves during this season. All of them fit Chelsea’s profile and all have had some massive morale boosts because they had the opportunity of playing as team regulars.

The biggest surprise came from Romelu Lukaku, who is now on loan to West Bromwich Albion. After moving to the UK, he became one of the biggest disappointments that Chelsea have had to deal with. He could not live up to expectations and was about to be transferred for good. Things have certainly changed this season. Even if Torres started to score a few matches back, Lukaku is definitely a player to look out for. It is more than possible that he will take the Spaniard’s place for next season.

The Belgian international is only 19 years old and already managed to score 13 goals in one Premier League season. That is very impressive. His situation is not quite clear yet. Even though Mourinho is almost sure of being Chelsea’s next coach, nothing is set in stone until the end of the season. Lukaku may be tempted to sign a deal with Swansea who have managed to qualify for the Europa League. WBA boss, Steve Clarke, also declared he would be more than happy to manage the young striker for one more year.

Lukaku delivered another strong performance for West Brom yesterday as he hit the bar in the second half with a great header, was a constant threat and of course helped to set up Billy Jones’ equalizer as West Brom came back to draw with Newcastle at the Hawthorns.
