Romano Reveals Personal Terms Have ‘Already Been Discussed’ As Boehly Prepares ‘New Bid’ For 45M Target

Chelsea have got as far as negotiating personal terms with Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist claims that wages have “already been discussed”, with Blues owner Todd Boehly now planning a “new bid” to secure the England international’s signature:

Sterling is believed to be keen to have his future sorted by the time he returns from holiday early next month and Chelsea are pressing ahead with their plans to secure his services with an improved offer.

Romano has previously reported that the London club had their first bid (worth €25m/£21m plus add-ons) knocked back, and it has been suggested that they will need at least £40m to £45m to get an agreement from City.

Chelsea are very much in pole position to sign Sterling, with rivals Arsenal and Tottenham seemingly out of the running, and there is now confidence that the 27-year-old will complete a move to Stamford Bridge.
