Romano Confirms La Liga Giants Have “Already” Made Their Move For Chelsea Star

Barcelona have made “direct” contact about signing Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist claims the 31-year-old is keen on moving back to Spain and, with Barca “already” holding discussions with the player, a switch to the Camp Nou is a real possibility:

Alonso has just over a year left on his contract with the Blues and, with the fullback reportedly keen on leaving Stamford Bridge, he won’t be looking to extend his current deal.

Chelsea will be keen to avoid the problems they have had with Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, who are both set to leave on free transfers, and the Blues will be aiming to offload Alonso so they receive some sort of fee.

It means that, once sanctions have been lifted on Chelsea, negotiations will likely begin to sell the defender, who has spent just under six years at the club.
