Romano Claims Chelsea Star (Who Had A “Chance To Leave” In The Summer) Could Benefit Hugely From Potter’s Arrival

Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic is one of the players who could benefit most from the appointment of Graham Potter as manager, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist claims the 23-year-old had found things tough under previous head coach Thomas Tuchel but, despite having the “chance to leave” the Blues over the summer, he could now be back in contention for regular game time this season:

“It could be a fresh start for some players who had been struggling under Thomas Tuchel. In particular, I think Christian Pulisic can be one of the players who’ll have a new, big chance under Potter after having the chance to leave the club during the summer.”

It will be interesting to see how Potter handles Pulisic. The American international has undoubted natural ability but his fitness issues and lack of consistency led him to becoming a peripheral figure in the Blues’ squad over the past year or so.

Potter is known for improving players and getting the most out of them, so we will find out how he manages Pulisic, as well as other players (such as Hakim Ziyech and Trevoh Chalobah) who fell down the pecking order under Tuchel.
