Chelsea have endured a difficult transfer window thus far but have made two major moves in recent weeks, bringing in Antonio Rudiger and Tiemoue Bakayoko to strengthen their options in defence and midfield respectively.

Those two new additions will allow Conte to build a new spine through his time and his final piece of the jigsaw is securing a top-class striker to replace Diego Costa, although the Italian boss is finding it difficult to land the ideal man.

Chelsea missed out on the services of former Blues man Romelu Lukaku, who instead opted to join Manchester United from Everton, and there seems to be some difficulties in securing a move for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.

Conte’s side have been linked with an array of top-names across Europe, including Torino’s Andrea Belotti, Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bayer Leverkusen’s Javier Hernandez, but it appears the Italian boss will avoid a swoop for one of those stars and instead eye names from within the Premier League.

Sky Sports claims Chelsea are eyeing names from within English football, although they fail to mention a specific player, with the reports raising the possibility of the Blues signing Fernando Llorente from Swansea City- a man they pursued in the January transfer window.

Over than the Spaniard though, there seems to be few players within the Premier League, who are achievable targets, that would significantly bolster the Blues attack- unless they were to put faith in young striker Michy Batshuayi.

With Batshuayi at the club, Chelsea already have one decent option to lead their line but the young Belgian striker struggled in his debut season in the Premier League and needs support- and landing a striker with Premier League experience would certainly help.

Unfortunately, Chelsea would struggle to match their rivals in the attacking lines if they were to stick to domestic transfers- as Manchester United have Lukaku, Spurs have Harry Kane, Arsenal have Alexandre Lacazette and Manchester City have an array of attacking options.

Eden Hazard did play centrally at times for Chelsea last season and that could be an option for the Blues again, although it would be a bold move from Conte to put all his eggs in one basket- and the best option would be to go all-out for a European striker.

Chelsea’s problem now though is that clubs across Europe know the Blues are getting desperate, so they could raise their asking-prices.
