Report Reveals Why Hudson Odoi Was Missing From Chelsea’s Matchday Squad For Spurs Clash

Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has NOT picked up an injury and was simply left out of the matchday squad for the draw against Tottenham yesterday, according to Football.London.

Despite starting and scoring the opening goal in the 2-1 win over Rennes during the week, manager Frank Lampard opted to recall Christian Pulisic, which meant there was no place for Hudson-Odoi.

Pulisic had been sidelined with a hamstring problem but had been training ahead of Sunday’s game. The American international came on for Timo Werner in the final 15 minutes but was unable to break the deadlock as the Blues played out a 0-0 draw.

In one sense, Hudson-Odoi’s omission is a good thing as it demonstrates how much depth Chelsea have in the final third of the pitch but the England international would have been gutted to miss out considering his performance in the Champions League only a few days earlier.

It will be interesting to see whether the 20-year-old features against Sevilla on Wednesday night.
