Report Reveals How Key Chelsea Figure ‘Entered The Scene’ And Helped Club Secure 55M Transfer

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel was pivotal in helping to secure the signature of Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, according to Sport.

The Catalan newspaper report that the Frenchman originally had his heart set on a move to Barcelona but Tuchel “entered the scene this week and convinced” the player to make the switch to London instead.

There are now multiple reports suggesting that the Blues will sign Kounde, with the London club expected to pay a fee in the region of €65m (£55m).

Although there is no indication that there will be any last-minute hitches, supporters should still bear in mind that transfers can take unexpected turns sometimes.

However, if Kounde’s move is confirmed, Chelsea are likely to press ahead with signing yet another centre-back. Presnel Kimpembe is believed to be the main target, but if he can’t be persuaded to leave Paris Saint-Germain, the main alternative is thought to be RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol.
