Report Reveals Chelsea Have Been Handed A Major Advantage In Their Battle To Sign Declan Rice

West Ham midfielder Declan Rice won’t hand in a transfer request but he is keen on joining a club who are competing for silverware, according to The Athletic.

Chelsea and Manchester United are both said to be interested in the England international but it seems the Blues will have one major advantage in the battle to sign the 21-year-old.

Rice has recently put his father in charge of his future and with him reportedly being a Blues’ season ticket holder, it would likely push him towards a move to Stamford Bridge.

West Ham are believed to have tabled a new contract to the midfielder but the player is said to be delaying signing on the dotted line as he considers his future.

With Rice unwilling to force his way out of the London Stadium, though, the onus is still very much on Chelsea to come up with the funds necessary to buy the player. Reports suggest the Hammers could demand as much as £80m, which could still prove a major obstacle in a move going ahead.
