Report Reveals Chelsea Are Already ‘In Advanced Discussions’ To Secure 25M Transfer

Chelsea are “in advanced discussions” to sign Fulham youngster Luke Harris, according to The Mirror.

The English tabloid claim that the Blues are prepared to pay £25m up front for the 17-year-old, with another £5m in performance-related bonuses. That is a staggering figure for a player who has made just one senior appearance in his career so far.

Harris came to the attention of Chelsea’s academy staff when he scored a hat-trick against their Under 21s last month, and it appears Head of Youth Development Neil Bath has recommended the player to the club’s owners.

The midfielder has also been in the headlines very recently after he was called up for Wales’ games against Belgium and Poland this week, although he didn’t get onto the pitch for either match.

Harris only signed his first professional contract earlier this month so Fulham are very reluctant to let him leave, but Chelsea are confident that a move could be finalised when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
