REPORT: Napoli Sporting Director Confirms Chelsea’s Interest In £23m Rated Spanish Star

Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has reportedly confirmed that the Serie A side are competing with Chelsea and Arsenal for Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon.

SportItalia (quotes translated by Football-Italia.net) claim to have spoken to Giuntoli, and they then relayed what they were told about the interest in Reguilon:

“He told us that they are interested in Reguilon, but that Real Madrid have some high demands and there is also interest from Chelsea and Arsenal. For now, they are aiming for a loan.”

This backs reports coming out of Spain yesterday that Chelsea are the favourites to sign the Spaniard. It is thought Real Madrid are looking to sell the fullback for around €25m (£23m).

Reguilon is believed to be one of a number of left-backs that the Blues are looking at. Ben Chilwell is said to be the London club’s top target but Leicester’s valuation of the player is proving to be problematic.

Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico, Porto’s Alex Telles and Reguilon are the other defenders said to be in the frame. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea do indeed make a formal bid for one of them in the coming days and weeks.
