REPORT: Hudson Odoi Targeted By Italian Heavyweights Ahead Of Possible Deadline Day Switch

Atalanta could make an attempt to sign Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi on loan before the transfer window shuts, according to the Corriere Della Sera Bergamo.

The local newspaper reports that the Serie A side’s head coach Gian Piero Gasperini has been after the 20-year-old “for a while” and an approach to sign the player on a temporary basis could happen in the next few days.

Atalanta have good relations with Chelsea after discussions led to Davide Zappacosta moving to the Italian club for €10m (£8.6m) earlier this week, and there is now optimism a second deal can be done for Hudson-Odoi.

The England international has struggled for game time this season due to competition for places up front and Atalanta could offer him a chance to get some minutes under his belt.

However, Atalanta are not prepared to pay Hudson-Odoi’s wages, with the Corriere Della Sera Bergamo claiming they are hoping a deal could be agreed at “zero cost.” Whether there is any likelihood of that happening, it remains to be seen.
