Report Confirms ‘Key’ Meeting As Chelsea Look To Seal Deal For 21M Rated La Liga Star

Chelsea will meet with Barcelona officials and the representatives of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in order to find a breakthrough in negotiations, according to Sport.

So far, Thomas Tuchel’s side have not been willing to match Barca’s asking price for the ex-Arsenal player, which currently stands at €25m (£21m),

However, it is believed that the latest round of talks, set for Monday, are expected to be “key” to working out a possible agreement between the two teams.

Sport suggest that Barcelona are not desperate to sell Aubameyang, citing the fact that the La Liga club’s manager Xavi would prefer the 33-year-old to stay.

If Memphis Depay is also allowed to leave (with Juventus closing in on a deal for the Dutchman), it would mean they would be left with no backup for Robert Lewandowski.

It should be pointed out, though, that Barca have still not been able to register new signing Jules Kounde so, if push comes to shove, it’s likely that Aubameyang will be sold before the end of the month.
