Report Claims It Is ‘Inevitable’ That Chelsea Will Come Calling To Sign 87M Serie A Marksman

Chelsea remain firmly in the race to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, according to Tuttosport.

The Italian newspaper claims that, after recruiting Kalidou Koulibaly from the Serie A club in the summer, it is now “inevitable” that Graham Potter’s side will come calling for Osimhen as well due to the player’s “quality”.

Napoli have “no intention” of letting the Nigerian international leave at the moment but, if a team were to match their €100m (£87m) asking price, it would make them “waver” about their transfer stance.

Osimhen is reportedly one of the forwards that Chelsea are scouting, but there are alternatives being considered, such as AC Milan’s Rafael Leao, Lille’s Jonathan David and Brentford’s Ivan Toney.

The major concern about Osimhen is his fitness record. The 23-year-old has missed 45 matches over the last two and a half seasons, so the Blues would have to think long and hard before making such a sizeable investment in the player.
