Chelsea are “very close” to agreeing a deal for RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, according to TMW.

The Italian website claims Blues technical director Christopher Vivell is the one leading negotiations, with talks between the London club and Leipzig said to be progressing at some pace.

Vivell knows Szoboszlai well, having spent a long time at the Red Bull Group where the player has come through the ranks at Salzburg and now Leipzig.

TMW suggest that a deal for the Hungarian international could be closed “in the next few days” but it’s probably wise to be cautious about these reports. There have been no sources in England or Germany who have made similar claims.

Szoboszlai has, however, had a good season for Leipzig. The 22-year-old has 18 goal involvements in total (five goals and 13 assists), which is only one shy of the total he managed during his first campaign in Germany.
