Report Claims Chelsea Are Targeting £53M Rated Brazilian Ace To Solve Their ‘Striker Problem’

Chelsea have identified Athletico Paranaense striker Vitor Roque as the man to solve their “striker problem”, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Catalan publication claims that the Blues are the club that are “most interested” in signing the Brazilian, and they are willing to move “quickly” with an offer to beat their rivals to the player’s signature.

Barcelona and Arsenal are both keeping close tabs on Roque too, but neither team is in a position to make a bid at the moment. While Barca have financial problems, the Gunners are not actively seeking a new number nine.

Chelsea, on the other hand, desperately need to recruit a goalscorer. Roque reportedly has a €60m (£53m) release clause and it remains to be seen whether his club would agree to sell for below that amount.

The 18-year-old has had a strong start to the season, scoring five goals in ten appearances, while he was given his debut for Brazil’s senior team last month.
