Chelsea are “willing to offer” €100m (£89m) for AC Milan winger Rafael Leao this summer, according to Fichajes.net.
The Spanish rumour mongers claim the fact that negotiations over a new contract have stalled between the Portuguese international and the Serie A champions has prompted the Blues to step up their pursuit in the player.
Leao has less than eighteen months left on his current deal, and Milan will be forced into selling him at the end of the season if he doesn’t sign on the dotted line soon.
However, Fichajes.net‘s suggestion that Chelsea would pay close to £90m for the 23-year-old does seem pretty unlikely, considering the amount of time left on his contract.
Especially as Graham Potter’s side have also only recently spent £88m on a similar player like Mykhailo Mudryk, it would be wise to take this latest report about Leao with a very large pinch of salt.
