REPORT: Chelsea Star ‘Could Leave’ Stamford Bridge In January With 18M Sale Being Considered

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante “could leave” Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window, according to La Repubblica.

The Italian publication claims there are two key reasons why the France international is likely to be sold before the end of the season.

Kante will have six months remaining on his contract in the New Year and he is thought to be seeking a “new experience”. Another factor is that he “does not have a good relationship” with manager Graham Potter which may hasten his departure from the club.

In terms of his potential destination, La Repubblica claim that Juventus and Inter Milan would both be interested in the 31-year-old but his £18m price tag may prove too costly.

Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to have kept tabs on Kante previously, although the latter are said to have cooled their interest recently with their football advisor Luis Campos said to be focused on signing younger players. For the time being then, it appears there is no favourite for the Frenchman’s signature.
