REPORT: Chelsea Set To Make ‘Big’ 89M Bid For Bundesliga Goal Machine Next Summer

Chelsea will make a “big offer” for Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland next summer, according to Les-transferts.com. The French website claims that the Blues are preparing a bid in the region of €100m (£89m) for the player.

The Norwegian international does have a €75m (£67m) release clause but that only comes into effect at the end of the 2021/22 season and it is believed Dortmund will try and keep hold of the striker until then.

Haaland only moved to the Bundesliga from Red Bull Salzburg in January but he has already gone on to score 27 goals in 29 games for Dortmund during his short time in Germany.

Chelsea are, of course, not the only interested club with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool having also been linked with the 20-year-old in recent months.

Considering the Blues only signed a forward in Timo Werner a matter of months ago, a bid for Haaland would be a surprise and we shall have to wait and see how accurate this French report is.
