REPORT: Chelsea Sent Two Scouts To ‘See’ £131M Star ‘Up Close’ On Sunday But Another PL Club Is ‘On Pole’ To Sign Him

Chelsea had two scouts in attendance to ‘to see’ Napoli striker Victor Osimhen “up close” at the weekend, according to Il Mattino.

The Italian newspaper says the Blues were unlikely to be impressed with what they saw as Napoli slumped to a 2-0 defeat to Monza.

However, the battle to secure Osimhen’s signature is expected to heat up in the coming weeks, with a number of teams pursuing the forward.

Il Mattino report that, in addition to Chelsea, Newcastle, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United are also interested, with the Red Devils “on pole” to sign the player.

It is believed that Erik ten Hag’s side started negotiations with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis all the way back in August so they currently have the advantage.

A lot will, of course, depend on who is willing to pay Osimhen’s asking price. The Nigerian international could cost as much as €150m (£131m) so it remains to be seen who will meet the valuation.
