REPORT – Chelsea Reject Enquiry From Barcelona For Out Of Favour Centre Back

Chelsea have turned down an enquiry from Barcelona for centre-back Andreas Christensen, according to reports in the English media.

The Catalan club are seeking a replacement for Samuel Umtiti who looks set to be sidelined with a knee injury for the long term.

The Frenchman has been suffering with the problem since the summer but Barca are now preparing for the defender to have surgery to resolve the issue.

With that being the case, they have turned to Christensen as a potential replacement but the Blues are not willing to sell.

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has reportedly told Barcelona that the Danish international is not available at any price during the January transfer window.

Christensen has been a bit-part player under manager Maurizio Sarri this season, having only played in the Europa League and the Carabao Cup.

However, it seems as though the Blues are not willing to let the promising young defender leave Stamford Bridge.
