Report: Chelsea Move Colombian Superstar To The Top Of The Shopping List

It`s been an amazing two months for Chelsea who have managed 7 straight wins in which they scored 19 goals and only conceded one. Conte’s new formation turned things around for the Blues and gave them the proper circumstances to reach full potential. Players like Moses, Costa, Hazard and Pedro now shine under the Italian boss’ supervision and seem only to improve with every game. Even so, the road to the Premier League title is very long and a one point advantage over teams like City and Liverpool shows how close the Premier League is this season.

With that in mind, rumors regarding possible reinforcements moving to Stamford Bridge are more than plausible especially knowing the fact that the club is always willing to spend when it trusts the manager in charge. While there was a lot of talk regarding the arrival of a new defender it looks like the midfield is the area getting an upgrade. Apparently the player may be Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez who has been looking for another team for a while now. The young Colombian is in a similar situation to that of Di Maria at Manchester United. He is good but not perfect for the way the team is currently playing. Because of that a move to Stamford Bridge sounds more than possible. The Champions League spot for next year seems secure, the Premier League title is not a dream anymore compared to last year and the football under Conte is top notch.

According to Metro, the £63 million Colombian is also being tracked by Manchester United who are still building a team under Mourinho. A possible move to United might come as a disadvantage though as the Portuguese boss is known for pushing players away without giving them time to adapt or prove themselves. Conte should be more on James’ side as the Italian has revived the career of players who were thought lost under the Special One. The asking price is expected to be under what Real paid for the 25-year-old but even so it will not be a cheap transfer. It likely would be worth the effort though.
