Chelsea were the “last club to make contact” with the representatives of Red Bull Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi, according to Calciomercato.com.
The Italian website claim that the Blues and Inter Milan have joined the race for the German international, who has scored 15 goals in 22 games so far this season.
Adeyemi has also been linked with a number of other teams, including Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Bayern Munich but reports in Germany suggest there are two favourites for the 19-year-old.
Borussia Dortmund are said to be leading the race for the teenager’s signature, while RB Leipzig will also be in the running as they have strong connections with Salzburg.
Adeyemi is believed to be valued at around €40m (£34m), despite the fact that he has limited first-team experience. He only broke into Salzburg’s starting eleven last campaign, but many believe he does have a very big future in the game.
