REPORT: Chelsea Have ‘Agreement’ In Place With Agent Of 52M Rated Defender

Chelsea have an “agreement” with the agent of RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Italian website claims that, while the Blues haven’t managed to find a breakthrough with Leipzig in terms of the transfer fee, the London club are very much in the driving seat when it comes to securing the player’s signature.

Juventus are also reportedly keen on Gvardiol but they have been put off by the amount it would cost to sign the Croatian international.

Calciomercato say the 20-year-old’s asking price is €60m (£52m) but there is some debate over whether Leipzig agreed to include a release clause in the centre-back’s new contract that he signed in September.

Respected journalist Matt Law has suggested that Gvardiol may be available for just €50m (£43m) next summer, which would be a bargain, considering Chelsea are believed to have had an €80m (£69m) offer turned down during the last transfer window.
