REPORT: Chelsea Close To Sealing Deal For Prolific Argentinian Ace

Chelsea are close to sealing a swap deal that would see Gonzalo Higuain join the Blues with Alvaro Morata moving in the other direction to AC Milan, according to the Sun.

Manager Maurizio Sarri was keen to recruit the Argentinian international last summer but the 31-year-old made the loan switch to the Rossoneri instead.

Morata, meanwhile, is reportedly no longer in the Chelsea boss’s plans with the Italian having lost patience with the striker.

The Spaniard has struggled with confidence since his £65m arrival from Real Madrid in 2017 and has scored just seven times in all competitions this season.

A loan to Milan would be pretty straightforward to accomplish but Higuain’s move to the Blues is more complicated.

The Argentine is still owned by Juventus, and Milan have an obligation to buy the forward at the end of his loan spell for €36m. This deal would likely have to be transferred to Chelsea for any move to go ahead.
