Chelsea are “very interested” in Barcelona wingback Sergino Dest, according to Sport. The Catalan publication claims that the Blues director Marina Granovskaia is in “negotiations” with Barca, with the American likely to be involved in a potential swap deal.
The La Liga club are keen on snapping up both Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, but they don’t have the money to sign the pair so they are open to exchanging players instead.
Granovskaia has reportedly named Dest and reserve goalkeeper Neto as the two players that Chelsea would like to take. Dest was previously linked with a loan move to Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window, but it appears that this could be a permanent switch.
Sport claim that the USA international is valued at around €20m (£17m) so it remains to be seen whether Barcelona would agree to the swap.
The interest in Neto is more surprising, although it may suggest that Kepa Arrizabalaga is looking to leave Stamford Bridge in the coming months.
