Chelsea and Manchester City are the two clubs who are the “favourites” to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, according to Bild (via Sport Witness).

The German tabloid claims that the two Premier League sides have the financial resources to carry out the transfer, whilst also offering tempting projects on the pitch.

Reports in the UK in recent weeks have suggested that Dortmund may demand as much as €150m (£131m) for Bellingham, and it is believed that the player’s potential price tag could lead to other interested teams, like Liverpool and Real Madrid, falling by the wayside.

Chelsea are building a new era under owner Todd Boehly and manager Graham Potter; something which Bild suggest could help them persuade Bellingham into moving to Stamford Bridge.

However, City may still have a trump card up their sleeve. The presence of Erling Haaland (a former Dortmund teammate) is said to be important, as well as the Manchester club’s impressive trophy haul in recent years.
