Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly “agreed to meet” the representative of Vahid Halilhodzic to discuss the possibility of the Ex-Morocco head coach replacing Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge, according to L’Equipe.

The French newspaper claims that the 69-year-old was “proposed by an agent” to Boehly who did not flatly reject the suggestion out of hand.

However, it quickly became apparent that the American billionaire had made Brighton’s Graham Potter his favoured candidate and discussions with Halilhodzic did not go anywhere.

The Bosnian has had a long career, managing a number of clubs in France (including Paris Saint-Germain) as well as being appointed as national team coach for the likes of Ivory Coast, Algeria and Japan.

Halilhodzic is probably best known to Chelsea supporters for his high-profile falling out with Hakim Ziyech. The winger effectively retired from international football due to disagreements with his manager.

Ziyech will undoubtedly be happier than most that Halilhodzic did not end up succeeding Tuchel as Blues manager.
