The agent of Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries “is in England”, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport.
Rafaela Pimenta is believed to have had “several talks” with Premier League clubs but, so far, she has had no luck in finding a possible buyer.
Gazzetta report that Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle are all potential suitors but they have been put off by Inter’s €40m (£35m) to €50m (£43m) price tag.
In fact, it is believed there has not even been “an exploratory phone call” to enquire about the Netherlands international in recent days, but it remains to be seen if that will change before the transfer window closes.
For Chelsea, a lot will depend on their negotiations with Lyon over Malo Gusto. The French club’s president Jean-Michel Aulas has declared that the teenager won’t leave before the summer. This is believed to be a negotiating tactic as he wants to keep the defender on loan for the rest of the season.
That arrangement may not satisfy Graham Potter’s side so there is still a possibility that they may make an approach for Dumfries instead.
