Real Madrid might finally be willing to let Fabio Coentrao leave. The Portuguese left-back has struggled to become part of the starting eleven ever since he signed back in 2011 failing to make much of an impression. Even though he is under contract until 2019, he has been rumored to leave even since last year. Mourinho might just be the one to revive the 27 year old whose career has not been going anywhere. According to Metro, he could come to Chelsea and provide some much needed competition for Azpilicueta who dominated Filipe Luis and became the only choice for the Special One to consider. With the Brazilian looking to return to Atletico, Coentrao could be the perfect fit for the team. He is not that expensive, he still has a lot of time to recover his form after being benched for long periods of time and he is eager to fight for a spot on the left flank of the defense.

Apparently Coentrao is eager to join Chelsea and has even turned down an offer from Sporting who were willing to offer him a deal that would have definitely turned him into a main player on the team. Mourinho knows the Portuguese international very well and is expected to make an offer for Real to consider. The 27 year old is valued at about £10m which might be a great deal considering Coentrao’s experience and willingness in the effort department. Hopefully he will not end up like Luis who barely made the team since leaving Spain.
