Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has shared a photo of himself and Hakim Ziyech hinting that both players are close to returning to fitness:
At his pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Frank Lampard suggested that the pair were “getting closer” to making their comebacks. Pulisic hasn’t played since the FA Cup final at the start last month due to a hamstring injury.
The American international was hoping to be back before the start of the season but a setback in his recovery delayed his return. He could now be in contention for the game against West Brom at the weekend.
Ziyech, meanwhile, has yet to make his competitive debut for the Blues, having injured his knee during a preseason friendly against Brighton, but Pulisic’s post on Instagram does suggest that both players could be ready to make their first appearances of the season in the very near future. After having to put Mason Mount and Kai Havertz on the wings in recent games, Lampard will be happy to have more options.
