PSG ready to sell Krychowiak to Chelsea, Conte must make a move

Chelsea have found themselves in a bit of a pickle at the start of the new Premier League season, with a squad that lacks significant depth and Antonio Conte being handed further issues following suspensions to Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas.

The loss of that pair ahead of a visit to play Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Sunday is a major concern and the fans will be expecting a strong response after the defending champions suffered a shock defeat to relegation favourites Burnley in their first fixture of the new campaign.

Antonio Conte has made it abundantly clear that he wants further signings to add to the additions of Willy Caballero, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Antonio Rudiger and Alvaro Morata this season, with midfield potentially being a priority for the Blues.

Fabregas suspension, added to Bakayoko’s injury issues and the loss of Nemanja Matic, means the Blues are lacking numbers in central midfield and only really have N’Golo Kante as a senior option ahead of the clash with last year’s runners-up Tottenham.

Involvement in the Champions League this season means that Chelsea definitely need to increase the depth within their squad, particularly in central-midfield, and the ideal opportunity may have been handed to Conte on a plate.

Metro claim Paris Saint-Germain are keen to offload Grzegorz Krychowiak to the Blues this summer following their world-record capture of Neymar from Barcelona, after initially rebuffing an approach from the Premier League champions last month.

The 27-year-old earned a stellar reputation following successful years in Spain with Sevilla but struggled to take that experience with him to Ligue 1 last season, earning just 11 appearances in the league last term as the Parisians conceded their title to Monaco.

Unai Emery is under pressure to respond this season and is continuing to eye a reshuffle to his side, with Krychowiak made available- and it’s a deal that Chelsea cannot afford to pass by as Conte’s side desperately need additions.

The experience of the Polish midfielder will be crucial to Chelsea’s campaign domestically and in Europe and he’d be a solid partner to any of the Blues’ current midfield trio, allowing Conte to adjust his tactical set-up when it suits him.
