PSG Legend Talks Up Hazard Move

Eden Hazard lit up Ligue 1 during his time at Lille. He made his name as one of the most promising young stars while playing in France, which earned him a big money move to Chelsea in the summer of 2012, who were fresh from their UEFA Champions League triumph.

England was a completely different ball game from France for the attacker, however he took to the Premier League like fish to water. He made the English game his very own, and impressed right from the very start at Stamford Bridge. Mourinho returned to Chelsea, who took a fancy to Hazard and chose him as the fulcrum of Chelsea’s attack at the expense of others like Juan Mata.

There have been rumors about PSG’s interest in the Belgian, as they look to further strengthen their already enviable attack. Given the financial muscle they possess, they have no qualms in forking out €50 million to meet his buy-out clause. They are also willing to up his salary package, which currently stands at a massive annual €7 million.

Former PSG, Lyon and French national team goalkeeper, Gregory Coupet feels that Hazard’s arrival in the team which he supported as a young buy would add a completely new dimension to the club, report ESPNFC. He said, “It would be magnificent. He’s a great player who has taken on a whole new dimension since he went to Chelsea. He would also come to PSG out of love for the club, and he would bring in a few more supporters. It would be great.”

Though it’s nearly impossible to see Hazard switch clubs this month, it will be interesting to see whether PSG try to lure him back to France in the summer or in the future for that matter.
