Poor Scheduling Angers Mourinho

Chelsea traveled to Craven Cottage on Saturday to face Fulham in the league, looking to extend their lead at the top of the table to 4 points. Though the Blues got the win they were looking for, coupled with Arsenal slipping up at Stoke City, one man who was unhappy prior to the game was Chelsea boss Mourinho.

Chelsea had only just returned from Turkey in the wee hours of Thursday morning, where they faced Galatasaray in a 1-1 draw in the UEFA Champions League. It is a given that the team were jaded after playing away in such a high intensity game. Mourinho went into the game complaining about the fact that his team were denied any help by the Premier League authorities and were forced to play on Saturday afternoon, which could have easily been postponed to Sunday – the extra rest of 24 hours possibly doing Chelsea a world of good.

TEAMtalk reported the Portugese manager as saying, “With the special situation that the game was so far away and we don’t play on Sunday, which will be difficult, we play on Saturday, which will make it more difficult.”

Midfielder Frank Lampard too voiced his concerns previously regarding the same issue, and Mourinho joined him as he continued, “I think when a player like him and a man like him, expresses his feelings about that, I think this country should listen.”

Do you think Mourinho’s concerns are legitimate?
