Chelsea will seriously consider making Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski their number one target if they fail in their attempts to sign Erling Haaland, according to reports in Germany.
The Polish international’s agent, Pini Zahavi, is a close friend of Blues owner Roman Abramovich, and it could help facilitate the forward’s move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
However, Bayern are likely to block any potential sale from happening, even if Lewandowski is open to a switch to England, and there has been a mixed reaction to the story among fans on Twitter:
Please be true

I don’t believe this

Will Bayern agree to sell?!

Seems unlikely imo. How are Bayern gonna go and sell off their main player further down the transfer window and scramble for a replacement. Not a chance

I would go for him all day man

It’s harder to get Lewandowski from Bayern than Haaland from Dortmund. Does not make any sense.

I’d prefer we sign a young highly talented player that is yet to hit the headlines or win big.
In my opinion we need a striker hungry to prove themselves, rather then one that’s been there done that.
I’m not convinced lewandowski will thrive in the prem…

Complete striker make it happen

Bayern are not under any pressure to sell Lewandowski at the moment, with the 32-year-old having two years left on his contract, but the player is seemingly keen on leaving the Bundesliga for a new challenge.
Back in May, it was claimed that Chelsea had been in contract with the Pole’s entourage and it seems likely that the Blues are keeping a close eye on developments were the forward to force through a move in the coming months.
