The future of the 25-year-old Paulinho has come into question with the midfielder unfancied under Tim Sherwood for the second half of last season. Although Sherwood has been sacked, there have still been rumours linking the Brazilian with a move away from White Hart Lane.

He has scored eight league goals in his debut campaign and Spurs have failed to qualify for the Champions League next season, their minimum objective set at the start of the 2013-14 season.

Paulinho has recently been linked with a move to Chelsea with the Blues looking to increase their options in centre midfield. However, he has vehemently refuted claims that he looking to swap White Hart Lane for Stamford Bridge or any other club, according to Metro.

He said, “Absolutely not. I know how to handle my career and it’ll take more than just one bad moment before I reconsider my options. We have all got responsibilities at Tottenham and we are ready to go through this.”
