Paul Merson Predicts The Outcome As Chelsea Play Wolves

Paul Merson is expecting Chelsea to get back to winning ways when they take on Wolves at Stamford Bridge tomorrow afternoon.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are heading into the match off the back of a disappointing defeat against Everton last time out but Merson believes Wolves’ own poor form will mean it should be a straightforward three points for the Blues:

“Wolves have literally hit a brick wall and their season has fizzled out a little bit. They were atrocious against Brighton last time around, so I expect Chelsea to win this one rather comfortably. As for the Blues, I think they should seal third place in the Premier League with ease.”

Merson has gone with a 3-0 win to Chelsea, which is a somewhat surprising prediction, considering how poorly Tuchel’s men have been playing recently.

Prior to their defeat at Goodison Park, they laboured to a draw versus a very average Manchester United team while, before that, they scraped a narrow home win against a much-changed West Ham side.

Merson is probably correct in predicting that Chelsea should comfortably qualify for the Champions League but, recent performances have been rather concerning, so it may not be as easy versus Wolves tomorrow as he is assuming.
