Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson is expecting Chelsea to secure a comfortable win when they face Fulham on Friday night.

The Blues lost to the Cottagers in the reverse fixture a few weeks ago but Merson believes Graham Potter’s side were unlucky to lose that game and he is backing them to put things right at Stamford Bridge:

“I know they lost the reverse fixture against Fulham a couple of weeks ago, but I thought they were the better team on the day. They need to get on a roll somewhere, and this is a good place to start. I expect Chelsea to win this game.”

Merson has gone with a 2-0 victory for the home team, which seems like a pretty fair prediction, despite Chelsea’s recent struggles.

It should be pointed out that Fulham haven’t won since they last played Potter’s men and, combined with their average away form, it means the Blues are the favourites for the three points.

Marco Silva’s side have won four times on the road this campaign, but they have also lost on five other occasions, including their last away fixture against Newcastle.

For Chelsea, they will be hoping that new signings Mykhailo Mudryk and Enzo Fernandez can make a difference in helping to turn their season around.
