Paul Merson Predicts The Outcome As Chelsea Face Leicester City

Paul Merson is backing Chelsea to secure the three points when they take on Leicester at the King Power Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

The Sky Sports pundit believes the Foxes could be distracted by speculation about manager Brendan Rodgers’ future and he expects the away side to come out on top:

“I’m going to go for a Chelsea win. They were by far the better team against Burnley but weren’t ruthless enough in front of goal. The Premier League will come back and bite you in the backside if you don’t take your chances and that was exactly the case with Chelsea before the international break. They have a lot of injured players at the moment, but Chelsea’s squad is massive and they should be able to cope.”

Merson has gone with a 2-1 win for Chelsea, which seems like a pretty sensible prediction, considering the form of the two clubs going into the match.

A lot may depend on whether both Romelu Lukaku and Mason Mount start the game though. As Merson rightly points out, the Blues were profligate in front of goal against Burnley and they can’t afford for that to happen again tomorrow.

Leicester lost to Arsenal in their last home league fixture, but it is still likely to be a tight affair, especially when you look at the quality of players that will be on show for both teams.
