Oscar To Become Lampard’s Replacement

Oscar To Become Lampard’s Replacement

The 23 year old Brazilian, Oscar who last season seemed a bit out of position during some games, can now focus on becoming Frank Lampard’s replacement. According to the Daily Mail, Oscar has shown several qualities that suit him for the empty spot Lampard left after leaving for New York. The young midfielder is leading when it comes to assists and has scored a lot of goals since moving to Stamford Bridge. Even though he does not have the same physique as Lampard who could deal with the likes of Kompany, Vidic or Ferdinand, Oscar is a lot faster and has impressive dribbling abilities.

Chelsea will have to be patient with Oscar though who is far from being as efficient and as mature as Lampard. The Blues were reminded who they lost during their direct clash against City when Lampard managed to get the equalizer and had a great chance to bring home a win.

Oscar seems to lack a bit of confidence to perform in important matches. As far as that goes, it will be very difficult to reach the same level as Lampard, confidence wise without more experience. Fortunately, the 23 year old Brazilian still has a lot of time to grow and develop into a midfield leader Chelsea. Mourinho recently pointed out that Oscar needs to play and needs to play well in order to boost his confidence levels. He is still young and has trouble performing under great pressure. This affects his game and denies him the opportunity to show all of his qualities.
