Ornstein Reveals Chelsea Have Made Key Transfer Decision On 20 Year Old Ahead Of January Transfer Window

Chelsea will not countenance any bids for winger Callum Hudson-Odoi during the January transfer window, according to The Athletic‘s David Ornstein.

There has been more speculation about the 20-year-old’s future after being omitted from the squads for the last two league games against Tottenham and Leeds.

Bayern Munich are believed to be still keen on Hudson-Odoi but the Blues are determined to keep hold of him despite the player’s lack of game time in recent weeks. It is believed manager Frank Lampard wants the winger as cover, even though he does have the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic and Timo Werner who can play out wide.

Ziyech’s hamstring injury will likely hand Hudson-Odoi more first-team opportunities, while Pulisic’s own fitness record has been poor since moving to Stamford Bridge.

Even so, the player is concerned with his limited minutes as he still believes he can make England’s squad for next summer’s European Championships. Whether that will lead to him forcing a move, it remains to be seen.
