Manchester United have confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo has left the club by mutual consent, with the Portuguese international now available on a free transfer.
Chelsea have been regularly linked with the 37-year-old and his availability has once again led to discussions between fans on Twitter about whether the Blues should sign him:

Reports from journalists close to the club say Chelsea are currently not considering a move to snap up Ronaldo. Manager Graham Potter is not thought to be keen on the idea.
However, the Blues have continued to struggle in the final third of the pitch since his appointment back in September and there is no doubt that Ronaldo would be a guaranteed source of goals.
It would be a short-term solution, considering Ronaldo’s age, and the feeling is that the club are planning with the future in mind, so they may well target a much younger alternative instead either in January or at the end of the season.
