Barcelona are “now getting closer” towards agreeing a deal for Chelsea target Jules Kounde, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist suggests the Blues are now “ready to explore” other options as Barca look to finalise a deal for the France international:

Thomas Tuchel’s side tabled a £55m bid for Kounde a number of days ago but, as Romano mentions, they have not managed to reach an agreement, mainly due to the fact that the player prefers a switch to Barcelona.
It will be extremely frustrating for co-owner Todd Boehly if Chelsea do miss out on another target, following Raphinha’s decision to snub a move to the London club in favour of a switch to Camp Nou.
What will upset supporters more than anything is the length of time it has taken for the Blues to make the initial bid for Kounde. They have reportedly had personal terms agreed since last summer, but the decision to pursue other targets first may have cost them the chance to secure the 23-year-old’s signature.
