‘Not Yet’ Romano Offers Chelsea Hope As Rival Remain Locked In Talks With 69M Rated Defender

Paris Saint-Germain have “not yet” finalised a deal to sign Inter Milan wingback Achraf Hakimi, according to the Guardian‘s Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer expert was asked on Twitter whether the Moroccan international’s move to the Parc des Princes was going ahead and he replied that, while negotiations are taking place, no agreement has been reached:

Chelsea are believed to be PSG’s main rival for Hakimi, with manager Thomas Tuchel reportedly keen on strengthening his options out wide.

The 22-year-old’s price tag, though, could prove prohibitive with it being claimed in the Italian press that Inter won’t let the player leave for less than €80m (£69m).

Were Hakimi to move to Paris, though, it could have a knock-on effect on Chelsea’s other transfer plans. As well as missing out on the Moroccan, it may also mean that Inter would be more reluctant to sell Romelu Lukaku, as they have already raised money to balance the books by offloading another player.
