“Not Currently In Pole Position For Either…” Matt Law Confirms Double Transfer Blow For Chelsea

Chelsea are trailing other clubs in the battle to sign England duo Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham, according to the Daily Telegraph‘s Matt Law.

The journalist, who is usually reliable when it comes to the Blues, claims that the London club are “not currently in pole position for either” player ahead of next summer:

In terms of Bellingham, Chelsea have always been underdogs as it is believed that both Liverpool and Real Madrid have been working extremely hard in the background to put themselves at the front of the queue for the teenager’s signature.

The situation with Rice, though, is a lot more surprising. The West Ham captain came through the academy at Cobham and it was widely assumed that he would favour a return to the Blues if he had a choice.

However, Law says that two unnamed clubs have “expressed a strong interest” in the 23-year-old. Manchester United and Manchester City are said to be Chelsea’s main rivals for Rice so we shall see if those are the two teams that Law is talking about.
