No Arsenal players would get in the Chelsea team, says pundit

Liverpool legend Jamie Redknapp has insisted that no Arsenal players would stand a chance of making Chelsea’s starting XI.

The Blues beat Arsenal 3-2 last weekend, going convincingly ahead early on before being pegged back to 2-2 by Emery’s men, only for Marcos Alonso to seal a deserved victory for Maurizio Sarri late on.

It is a strange period for both sides, who are experiencing life under a new manager at their respective clubs. But Chelsea seem to have made a much smoother transition than their London rivals, and Redknapp claims that the Gunners’ squad is no match for Chelsea’s.

“Arsenal may have shown fight to battle back against Chelsea but their 3-2 loss only papers over the cracks,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail.

“Looking at the Arsenal team, not one of their players would get in Maurizio Sarri’s best XI. At the heart of defence, Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis don’t look a partnership.”

Chelsea fans will have been panicking about their club’s well being during the majority of the summer, with question marks about certain players’ future a constant presence in the media. They also were unclear on who would be manager of the club until very late on, as Antonio Conte’s departure and Maurizio Sarri’s arrival were not sorted out until the back end of summer.

But although it’s only early days, Chelsea look like they are a very healthy side with very few criticisms to be made.

Arsenal will almost certainly struggle to adapt as quick as the Blues, but it is vital that the club stick by Emery and his vision.
