Nizaar Kinsella Reveals Wesley Fofana’s Transfer Stance As Chelsea Consider Bid For 70M Rated Defender

Leicester defender Wesley Fofana is “not keen” on moving clubs this summer, according to the Evening Standard‘s Chelsea correspondent Nizaar Kinsella.

The journalist says the Blues are interested in recruiting the 21-year-old but the player has reservations about a transfer, having only recently recovered from a serious injury:

Fofana fractured his leg in preseason last year, and he only managed to get back to full fitness for the final two months of the campaign.

Leicester are also reluctant to offload the centre-back, and reports suggest that the Foxes may hold out for as much as £70m to sell the player before the transfer window closes.

One thing that Chelsea will take heart from, though, is Fofana has already named the Blues as one of the six clubs he would like to sign for. In an interview last November, talking about the teams he could see himself playing for, he said:

“There is Marseille, Real Madrid, Barcelona. In the Premier League, Chelsea, Man United, Man City… but you have to work to achieve your dreams. Through work, you can succeed in it all.”
