Nizaar Kinsella Confirms Teenager ‘Has Already Verbally Agreed’ Move As Chelsea Line Up 35M Bid

Lyon wingback Malo Gusto “has already verbally agreed” to join Chelsea, according to the Evening Standard reporter Nizaar Kinsella.

The journalist claims that the 19-year-old has given his word to the Blues that he will make a switch to Stamford Bridge if they can reach a deal with Lyon.

It is believed that Graham Potter’s side have already had an offer in the region of €20m (£18m) rejected for Gusto, but another bid is likely to be tabled very soon.

Lyon are expected to hold out for between €30m (£26.5m) and €40m (£35m) for the Frenchman, although they are said to be keen on keeping him on loan for the rest of the season.

That is not something that Chelsea are interested in doing so they may propose an offer on the high side of Gusto’s valuation in order to ensure he makes the move to London this month.

Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in the teenager but, from the sound of things, he has already made his choice to join the Blues.
