Nizaar Kinsella Claims 2 Chelsea Players (Who Cost A Combined £93M) ‘Will Be Offered In A Swap Deal’ For Serie A Star

Edouard Mendy

Chelsea goalkeepers Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga “will be offered in a swap deal” when the Blues hold talks with Inter about signing Andre Onana, according to the Evening Standard’s Nizaar Kinsella.

The usually reliable journalist reports that the Blues are prepared to let both their first and second-choice keepers leave this summer, and one could make the switch to Italy:

Kepa was signed for a world record £71m in the summer of 2018 but he has struggled to fulfil his potential, having lost his place in goal before regaining it this season.

Mendy, meanwhile, was bought for £22m from Rennes by Frank Lampard during his first spell in charge, but a contract dispute has led to him falling out of favour.

In terms of Onana, the Cameroon international only joined Inter last summer on a free transfer, and he has also been linked with Manchester United. Chelsea are expected to hold meetings with Inter about potential transfers next week.
