Nizaar Kinsella Believes Nathan Ake’s Arrival “Could Force Out” Chelsea Starlet Who Is Being Pursued By 4 Clubs

Chelsea defender Levi Colwill is unlikely to stay at Stamford Bridge if the Blues do snap up Nathan Ake from Manchester City, according to the Evening Standard journalist Nizaar Kinsella.

The newspaper’s Blues correspondent has already reported that Thomas Tuchel’s side are closing in on a deal for Ake but he says it “could force out” Colwill.

Brighton, Southampton, Leicester and Crystal Palace are all interested in signing the 19-year-old and, while Kinsella doesn’t make it clear whether a deal will be a loan or a permanent one, it seems more likely to be the former.

Colwill has been hailed as the new John Terry in some quarters and, while those comparisons are premature, the teenager has a lot of potential and it would be a shock if he were to be sold.

The centre-back does need first-team football, though, so if he can get it at another Premier League club next season, it will benefit his long-term development.
